Escritora y letrista de musicales estadounidense. En 1938, Comden junto con Adolph Green (n. 1915–m. 2002), Judy Holliday (n. 1922–m. 1965) y otros, idearon un número que se presentó en clubes nocturnos. En 1944, Comden y Green escribieron el libreto y las letras para Un día en Nueva York de Leonard Bernstein. Después colaboraron con Jule Styne en musicales como Peter Pan (1954), Bells Are Ringing (1956) y Hallelujah, Baby! (1967, premio Tony). Por sus letras en Wonderful town (1953), Aplausse (1970) y On the 20th Century (1978) obtuvieron otros tres premios Tony. Entre sus guiones se cuentan Cantando bajo la lluvia (1952) y Tía Mame (1958). "Just in Time y "The Party's Over son dos de sus canciones más reconocidas.
